The way that this country reacts in a time of tragedy is often horrible and shows our complete lack of sincere compassion. Instead of worrying about how to avoid another tragedy everyone is looking to point a finger and find someone to blame. Instead of looking to de-escalate violence and make everyone safer many people are yelling for “More guns! Bigger guns!” Teachers with guns!” Our country has been slowly but surely slipping father and farther away from progress. Everyone is afraid of being a victim but by arming teachers and everyone looking to carry their own gun, we’re going to be creating new victims.

I almost got in to a Facebook argument the other day over this image. I try to avoid being “too Atheist” on Facebook simply to avoid the arguments a lot of times. I made a comment about how the only thing more depressing than hearing about the news in CT was coming on to Facebook and reading all the depressing status and all the ones meant to start arguments. My cousin “liked” my status and then just a few minutes later posted this picture. I had to point out to her how this is EXACTLY the kind of thing that I was referring to in my comment. She basically stated that this has been her feeling for a while and that she is just posting it again now. I simply said I felt it was poor timing and left it at that as to avoid getting in to an argument over it. This type of people that put up messages like this in reaction to violence and tragedy are complete assholes, most the time, attempting to capitalize on a situation by hoisting their own agenda that is really completely unrelated to the topic.

At first I thought this was a joke. No way that this could actually be real right? Then I found this article, and this one, and this. I am sure there are many more, it is all generally the same story, but really? Louisiana should be ashamed of itself as an entire state. This is beyond ridiculous and is another example of how low people in the United States will sink to undermine the truth and reality of the world in favor of religious indoctrination. These type of actions are beyond disgusting and immoral, it should be child abuse to teach young impressionable children blatant lies in state funded schools.

That and creating a “controversy” where there never was one to begin with. It is horrible that they have to resort to complete fabrications to try and push their agenda on impressionable youth.
