I like to joke about how stupid the Catholic church is, sometimes reality is better than any joke I could come up with.

I’ve honestly been too busy to do much research on what the new Popester is all about, but this picture is too perfect to pass up.

I don’t usually like a lot 9GAG stuff but out of all the many Pope memes I’ve seen over the last few days this one made me laugh the most.

For those of you that don’t know the Pope is on Twitter @Pontifex just like always religion catches on to what everyone already knew about years later.

So a new story breaks this week that in Spain around 300,000 babies have been taken away from their families and put up for adoption to families that the Catholic church considered to be more “devout”. This amount could represent up to 15% of all adoptions that take place in Spain. This is a horrible outrage, the kind that someone can not read and not feel hurt by. For more info check this article here: http://www.newsytype.com/12834-catholic-church-stole-babies/
You know what really has the Catholic church up in arms this week though? Susan Sarandon refered to the Pope as a “Nazi”. Which, since he was part of the Hitler youth, is technically true and should not be cause for a great amount of alarm. Catholic U.S. representative Bill Donahue (a complete piece of trash in his own right) said that her comments are “ignorant” and “obscene”. This story seems to be posted up on nearly all of the tabloid sites currently. (Story link: http://www.tmz.com/2011/10/17/the-catholic-league-susan-sarandon-pope-benedict-nazi/)
Here is to hoping that we see the first story pick up a good amount of media coverage. It is something absolutely unconscionable and reaches the highest levels of appalling tactics. Chances are though if you see one Catholic story in the media this week, it’s going to be about Susan Sarandon calling the Pope a Nazi. The Catholic church should be crumbling, people should be turning away en masse and denouncing them for their horrific and often entirely illegal actions, yet they are still hanging on. How could someone possibly be proud to call themselves a Catholic?
