The saddest part is I have talked to people who legitimately put forth the argument in tile one like it means something and then continue to argue it even after it is pointed out how ridiculous it is.

At first I thought this was a joke. No way that this could actually be real right? Then I found this article, and this one, and this. I am sure there are many more, it is all generally the same story, but really? Louisiana should be ashamed of itself as an entire state. This is beyond ridiculous and is another example of how low people in the United States will sink to undermine the truth and reality of the world in favor of religious indoctrination. These type of actions are beyond disgusting and immoral, it should be child abuse to teach young impressionable children blatant lies in state funded schools.

Only 15 Percent of the US ‘Believe’ in Evolution: According to a recent Gallup poll, the proportion of the US public that believes God had a hand to play with the ‘creation’ of humans has remained unchanged for 30 years. In 1982, 44 percent of the US public polled said that they believed God created humans in our current form; today, that proportion has risen slightly to 46 percent. Only 15 percent said that they believed that humans evolved as science intended, and that God had no part to play in the process. Although this number is small, it was smaller in 1982 — back then only 9 percent of the US public held this view. The poll was taken by “1,012 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia,” says Gallup.
46% of the country chooses on their own accord to be complete ignorant idiots. People who wonder “are the religious really that bad in America”, the answer is it is probably worse than you imagine. No one needs to believe in evolution, it is true regardless or who does or does not believe it. When we have such a large portion of the population actively going against science in their “beliefs” it shows we have a problem. People don’t trust science, but they’ll still use it. Hypocrites on so many levels.

I have posed this question to Christians MANY times and as of yet I have never gotten a response addressing how they can believe both Jesus was sent to redeem sin and evolution. Science and religion just aren’t compatible on many levels and this is one of them.
