Due to constant misunderstanding with my name I feel the need to change my intro. I am hateful, hateful of religion. I hate what religion does to people and that people use it as an excuse to not think. I have spent many years of my life as an Atheist and have learned to handle my emotions, but no other word quite describes how I feel towards religion short of hate. I am outspoken, open minded, and will share my opinion. If you're looking for someone who will always agree with you, that won't be me.

Question with 24 notes

Anonymous asked: How are you hateful to religion but yet you are a "atheist"? atheist don't believe in religion there for there would be no reason to hate it!

I really need to figure out where people pull out all of these random made up definitions of Atheists that they hold to be true. I constantly see “Atheists believe in nothing” or “Atheists worship the devil” or “Atheists all think ____”. If you run into a situation with an Atheist where they are discussing their view points it would serve you well to ask them about their opinions and beliefs instead of rushing to incorrect judgements about what they are.

By definition the only requirement to being an Atheist is to not believe in any type of God or gods. That is the simplest and most direct explanation for what an Atheist is. In what world would an Atheist not believe in religion as if it doesn’t exist? It really doesn’t even make sense, of course religion exists. Atheists may think that it is damaging and dangerous but there is no reason to question the existence of religion.
