Due to constant misunderstanding with my name I feel the need to change my intro. I am hateful, hateful of religion. I hate what religion does to people and that people use it as an excuse to not think. I have spent many years of my life as an Atheist and have learned to handle my emotions, but no other word quite describes how I feel towards religion short of hate. I am outspoken, open minded, and will share my opinion. If you're looking for someone who will always agree with you, that won't be me.

Question with 6 notes

Anonymous asked: okay i'm honestly confused if you could help me that would be super. So the us ambassador gets killed because of a video about islam someone ELSE produced in america that was found on the net. So, why has this turned into an "i hate america" protest and rioting on the streets these past few days? Don't they have enough things to worry about with their own civil war instead of taking their anger out on a random topic that isn't even related?

Their reasoning, as best I can understand it, is because America allows denigration of Islam. The idea of “free speech” that we so love in America is a fairly alien idea in many countries. Many countries feel that if they can outlaw people speaking out against Islam that it protects Islam, in some way it makes it safer. There are some extremists who have sad that if Salman Rushdie had been killed when a fatwa was placed on his head that others would not dare to criticize Islam. They are attempting to impose their values and their views when it comes to criticizing Islam upon the whole world and many people are quick to jump to their defense. It is ridiculous that this type of suppression when it comes to nearly any other topic would be meant with a swell of push back but when it comes to Islam many people are cowed in to fear. Not surprisingly, as someone who speaks out against religion often I want to be able to have the right to say whatever I please, but I certainly don’t want to be killed over it. If I honestly though my life was in real danger perhaps I would be quiet, that is exactly what fundamental Muslims would love though.
