Due to constant misunderstanding with my name I feel the need to change my intro. I am hateful, hateful of religion. I hate what religion does to people and that people use it as an excuse to not think. I have spent many years of my life as an Atheist and have learned to handle my emotions, but no other word quite describes how I feel towards religion short of hate. I am outspoken, open minded, and will share my opinion. If you're looking for someone who will always agree with you, that won't be me.

Question with 7 notes

Anonymous asked: So it's really pissing me off this whole "The Innocence of Muslims" video--not necessarily because Muslims are painted in a bad light, but because Christians everywhere are like, "SEE DA VID IS TRU MUSLIMS ARE RESPONDING WITH VIOLENCE THEY AND THEIR PROPHET ARE VIOLENT PEOPLE." I just wanna slap everyone across the face because, honestly, if I went and made a video claiming their Jesus was gay for his disciple John, Christians would have a hissy fit, and it'd be all over the media. Thoughts?

I am certainly not one to defend Christians but even though they may throw a fit over it they wouldn’t necessarily kill anyone. Some of the most extreme “offenses” to Christianity have been met with protest, the “Piss Christ” is a good example of complete outrage from the Christian community yet there was no violence. I don’t want people to take this as a simple Muslim bashing comment but how is this violent reaction supposed to help support the whole “religion of peace” mantra so many chant? How is this not a completely outrage way for people to react to a film? How can anyone not be outraged about the fact that someone who WASN’T EVEN A PART OF THE FILM was MURDERED because of a film?

I don’t want people to be able to simply write of Islam as a violent religion because if they do they will never attempt to understand it or understand why these violent outbursts happen, they’ll simply write it off instead. If Islam doesn’t want to be seen in this light though there needs to be major reform and change so that these types of things do not happen in the “defense” of Islam. This is not a single incident, this is not one glaring event that stands out from the rest of history, at this point it is something that we have almost come to expect. How horrible is that? How sad and ultimately stupid is it to know that if someone half way across the world does something to “insult Islam” that there will be violent protest and it is quite possible if not likely that someone will be murdered? I would never say that Christianity is any better as a religion than Islam is but I don’t know how someone can realistically argue that their reactions to offense are the same.
