Due to constant misunderstanding with my name I feel the need to change my intro. I am hateful, hateful of religion. I hate what religion does to people and that people use it as an excuse to not think. I have spent many years of my life as an Atheist and have learned to handle my emotions, but no other word quite describes how I feel towards religion short of hate. I am outspoken, open minded, and will share my opinion. If you're looking for someone who will always agree with you, that won't be me.

Question with 4 notes

Anonymous asked: Why all the apologizing about Islam? Why all the "religion of peace" BS? Why can't people come out and say It's Killing People? My theory: If Muslim's didn't control the world's richest oil supply, things would be Way, Way different. If there were Christians or, god forbid, Atheists over there, it would be an entirely different story. Am I right?

The problem is that people often take it as grouping all Muslims in to the extremists. Unless people specifically state “I am talking about the Muslims that kill people and flip out over things like a movie or some redneck in Florida burning an old Qu’ran” people take it as someone saying “all Muslims are bad people”. It is irrational that we have to be so specific with our wording to avoid people taking faux offense to what is being said. I don’t attempt to group all people together but people often take that as the implication incorrectly.

I do think that a lot goes in to the historical conflict between Christianity and Islam. Many Christians have attempted to separate themselves from their bloody past and continual aggression against Islamic communities and countries would only be a continual reminder of the bloody past. A lot of it goes with general diplomacy and within that oil does play a huge factor. The majority of the worlds oil is in heavily Islamic areas and in order to keep the black gold flowing there has to be at least some level of diplomacy. The recent issues with Iran have served as a good example of what can happen when things get pushed to point of trade embargoes. It is hard to say how things would be different if they weren’t Islamic countries but I do wonder how things would change.
