No, it is a poverty to decide that people must be in poverty so that you can put yourself on a pedestal as you wish.
Remember Agnes Bojaxhiu was not a friend of the poor, she was a friend of poverty. This quote from her Noble peace prize acceptance speech in particular makes my stomach turn.
