Due to constant misunderstanding with my name I feel the need to change my intro. I am hateful, hateful of religion. I hate what religion does to people and that people use it as an excuse to not think. I have spent many years of my life as an Atheist and have learned to handle my emotions, but no other word quite describes how I feel towards religion short of hate. I am outspoken, open minded, and will share my opinion. If you're looking for someone who will always agree with you, that won't be me.

Question with 9 notes

Anonymous asked: So every time there is a hurricane or earthquake or some other natural disaster, the 700 club religious nuts come out and make some ridiculous claim that "god" caused the disaster to punish homosexuals or some other blameless group. However, we now have a major hurricane barreling into the gulf and disrupting the GOP convention. Do you think anyone is going to come out and say that obviously "god" hates republicans?

You would think if they were being “fair and balanced” they could make that comparison. That is the funny thing about religion though, it is rarely if ever fair. They apply standards to other people that they would never dream of holding themselves to. Instead they will likely spin it as being an evil Satanic hurricane sent by witches to try and stop them from fulfilling a glorious god-friendly event. The man most famous for making spins like that now is Pat Robertson, if he hasn’t already made an ass out of himself by commenting on the topic I am sure he will soon enough. You can always count on the most sincerely religious to make the most ridiculous statements.
