Due to constant misunderstanding with my name I feel the need to change my intro. I am hateful, hateful of religion. I hate what religion does to people and that people use it as an excuse to not think. I have spent many years of my life as an Atheist and have learned to handle my emotions, but no other word quite describes how I feel towards religion short of hate. I am outspoken, open minded, and will share my opinion. If you're looking for someone who will always agree with you, that won't be me.

Not the people, but the general religion yes. Mormons are often some of the nicest friendliest people but their religion is complete garbage. It is amazing that a religion created in rather recent memory by an obvious conman could garner so much popularity. The entire religion is completely illogical from the story of Joseph Smith and his “magic gold plates” to the religion itself. It is so extreme in how ridiculous that it is that I find it astounding a rational person can listen to it and not laugh it off.

The LDS church has also had many offshoot groups that have been rather extreme. The church itself may have updates some of its backwards bigoted views (like allowing African Americans to be priests and take part in ceremonies as of 1978) and outdated ways but like with all religions the adherents may take time to adopt those changes or reject them completely. There are of course still plenty of other ridiculous practices they retain. Many groups that can only be aptly describes as cults have sprung up out of the LDS church and who can blame them? Joseph Smith was able to prove that you can get people to believe anything if you call it religion.
