Anonymous asked: The bio on twitter of a guy I know says that he is passionate about the lord and savior, living to die because he knows he must die to really live. Welcome to reason #1 as to why I'm an atheist.
Ugh…I hate that garbage. So many people that believe in an afterlife are the shallowest most egocentric people you will ever meet. They all believe that they have to have eternity. Many of them will believe that life could be considered entirely worthless without an eternity afterwards awaiting them. Chances are they are making their life worthless by wasting it away and waiting for their “next life”. Why is that these imbeciles think they are so special? They can’t even grasp the concept of eternity and the ramifications of such a thing yet they will smugly assert they are certainly entitled to and intend to receive it.
When someone believes in this garbage they’ve already declared that idea is more important to them than their life is now. They’re stating that something they can not, do not, and will not know to be true is more important than anything they can do on this earth and in this lifetime. In many ways these people disgust me. They take the most amazing opportunity we will ever get, the opportunity to be alive, and they shit on it. They can only compare it to something they imagine to be much better and scoff at how paltry 80 years of life is compared to eternity. Yet these people still look to make others on this world bend to their will, strange doesn’t even begin to cover it.
